2 die forging method;

According to the different varieties and needs of pipe fittings, forging pipe fittings mainly use die forging, free forging and cutting processing forming technology. The universal die forging method has a large flash and consumes materials. In order to reduce the material consumption, some pipe fitting manufacturers began to use the forming technology without flash and obtained a better effect. This section mainly introduces the technology of die forging, free forging and cutting forming of pipe fittings.

① Die forging

For the three-way, four-way and bending small standard pipe fittings welded and threaded, their shapes are relatively messy, and die forging forming technology should be used to make them.

The billets used in die forging should be rolled profiles, such as bars, thick-walled tubes or plates. When the ingot is used as a material, the ingot should be rolled into a bar or forged and then used as a die forging blank to eliminate the segregation, porosity and other defects in the ingot.

The blank is heated and then put into the die forging (depending on the situation, it may be stopped after the initial forging), and the pressure makes the metal move and fill the die cavity; If the blank after forging has a flash, it must go through the process of flushing the flash residual material, and then complete the die forging work.

② free forging

Free forging technology can be used to manufacture pipe fittings with extra shape or pipe fittings that are not suitable for die forging. Free forging should forge the general shape of the pipe fittings; If tee, branch pipe parts should be forged.

③ Cutting processing

Some pipe fittings with cylindrical shape can be formed by direct cutting of bars or thick-walled pipes, such as double bore pipe hoop and loose joint head. The fiber flow direction of the metal material should be roughly parallel to the axial direction of the pipe fitting. Three, four, elbow and pipe fittings shall not be formed by direct cutting of bars.
